Fall Self Care Rituals

Fall is officially upon us and we have to say, we are totally loving it! Between the crisp air, changing leaves, and festivals, what's not to love? While this season of change is such a beautiful one, it can also be a stressful one with the looming holiday hustle and bustle ahead! We've complied a list of simple fall rituals to put into practice to allow for ultimate self care! 

 

 

1. Enjoy a cup of tea! 

This is one of our all time favorite ways to start out our mornings! We love a good immune boosting tea, like echinacea and local honey to prevent and soothe the inevitable seasonal cold/allergies. If "rooty" teas aren't your thing, this is the time of year where seasonal teas are a plenty! Try out a pumpkin or cinnamon inspired tea! Bonus points if you enjoy your brew outdoors on a crisp morning! 

 

 

2. Write down what you want to let go of! 

With the start of each season, we think it's extra important to give yourself a healthy dose of reality! We all have nasty habits we want to kick and what better way to welcome a new season! What will you let go of this season? A toxic relationship? Maybe you are spending too much time online or maybe you need to frequent the Starbucks line a little less! Whatever is weighing you down, we encourage you to let. it. gooooo! If you want to really take this ritual to the next level, burn your letter! A little dramatic? Maybe. Ultra therapeutic? You know it girl! 

 

 

3. Snuggle up in warm socks and pj's with a good book!

If you do nothing else for yourself this fall season, promise us you will snuggle up with your softest jammies and read at least one good book! It can be a book for self improvement or a book for pure enjoyment, the choice is yours! 

 

 

4. Try out a new hobby! 

Maybe your newest hobby lives on this list, maybe it doesn't! There is no time like the season of change to try out something new! Check out the career center to dip your toes into one of the many activities they offer! An incredibly simple hobby to incorporate into your day to day life is taking a morning or early evening stroll. It's a great way to breath in the cool air and simply just be. A more complex one? Take up crocheting and make your own fall scarf or hat! 

 

5. Embrace Hygge!

Wait, what's that? Inspired by Danish culture, hygge is a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being. Basically, embrace a cozy life! The Danes are some of the happiest people on earth and it's largely due to their lifestyle! So how can you implement this into your life? More biking, earlier lunches, working within work hours only, and lots of candlelight to name a few!
